tossed: the next chapter

I decided to switch gears - I designed and conceptualized a company called The Tooth Brush Club. Brilliant ideas don't always equal success. It was brilliantly executed, but I realized very quickly the world was not ready for this idea.

Parenting is the hardest job. At 39, I decided to take a leap of faith and adopt my son. He was 2 weeks old, I was a single parent, and life was turned upside down. My entrepreneurial approach to parenting was not always successful. Yet this was the longest relationship to date that I was able to hold on to. There's no snow day for mother!!! Five years into parenting, I met my now husband Gil. A full blown family had emerged including our dog Sunny and our cat Mystery. Thrown into the mix of Motherhood 101, Be Cool at After School was born. This parent-based after school program helped subsidize the education process at local Queens elementary schools. It still is a very successful after school program - helping parents and children to be cool at after school.
